A fire broke out at a car repair shop in Tuen Mun late Monday, forcing about 30 residents to evacuate.
The blaze was reported at about 11.40pm near the entrance archway of Nai Wai. Residents saw heavy smoke and moved to safety on their own. Firefighters arrived quickly, sending a smoke helmet team into the workshop and deploying hoses to extinguish the flames.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Castle Peak Road toward Tuen Mun near Nai Wai was fully closed due to the incident, causing traffic disruptions.
