Authorities are searching the waters adjacent to Hoi Sham Park in Hung Hom for the weapon used in a stabbing incident that critically injured two men on Saturday afternoon (Oct 4).
The incident occurred around 12.30 pm on Yuk Yat Street when the two victims—a 37-year-old surnamed Fok and a 25-year-old surnamed Yan—were found bleeding near a chess table at the Park.
Witnesses reported seeing a man with blood on his hands fleeing the scene along the waterfront toward Bailey Street.
Officers from the Kowloon West Regional Crime Unit were seen conducting investigations at the Park this morning (Oct 5), deploying divers to search for evidence. It is believed that the attacker may have discarded the knife into the sea before fleeing.
Additionally, the pavilion where the victims were discovered remains cordoned off. Sources indicate that the two victims, who know each other, were having takeaway food at the pavilion before the attack.
However, it is revealed that neither victim knew their assailant, who was described as a regular visitor to the Park.
With both victims still hospitalized in critical condition, police have not yet been able to obtain their statements.
Residents exercising in the Park expressed concerns, noting they had never encountered a violent incident there before.
"Of course I'm scared," a resident noted, adding that she typically does not stay in the Park for long after exercising.
Authorities are actively searching for the suspect, described as a man in his 30s to 40s, of medium build. He was last seen wearing a gray top, black shorts, and gray-and-white New Balance sneakers.
The investigation is ongoing.
