A 25-year-old KMB bus driver was violently assaulted on Monday following a dispute with a passenger in Mong Kok, with shocking footage of the attack circulating online.
The incident took place around 3pm on Argyle Street near Peace Avenue.
According to police, the altercation started when the bus driver failed to notice a male passenger waiting to board and began to drive away.
The enraged passenger, believed to be aged between 60 and 70, chased after the moving bus, banged on its exterior, and boarded to confront the driver.
Video footage shows the driver sitting on the sidewalk outside a shop after exiting the bus, shouting at the passenger, who was wearing black and green clothing, urging him not to run away.
The situation escalated when the passenger responded with profanities and then delivered two brutal kicks directly to the driver's head, shocking bystanders.
The young driver sustained head injuries and a cut lip but remained conscious.
He reported the assault himself and sought treatment at Kwong Wah Hospital.
Police have classified the case as "assault occasioning actual bodily harm" and "criminal damage," with the Kowloon City District Crime Squad actively searching for the elderly suspect who fled the scene.
