Hong Kong foreign currency reserves rise US$1.9 billion in July

Hong Kong’s foreign currency reserves rose by US$1.9 billion last month, data from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority showed.

The total foreign currency reserve assets of US$447.8 billion represent over five times the currency in circulation or about 38 percent of Hong Kong dollar M3.

There were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts at the end of both July and June.
