HSI increases to above 25,600 points at midday

Hang Seng Index rose to 25,657 points by midday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index gained 346 points, or 1.37 percent, to 25,657 points, bringing the half-day market turnover to HK$173 billion.

The Hang Seng Tech Index increased 2.2 percent to 4,834 points.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index slid 20 points, or 0.53 percent, to 3,793 points. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index fell 0.43 percent to 13,452 points.
