Hong Kong stocks open lower on Friday

Hong Kong shares fell at the open on Friday, as investors turned cautious amid tensions in the Middle East.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped 0.7 percent, or 181 points, to 25,733.

The Hang Seng Tech Index inched down 0.8 percent to 4,826.

CATL (3750) rose 1.9 percent, marking the best performance among blue chips.

In contrast, CK Asset (1113) declined 2.9 percent, slipping the most of the HSI components.

Tech heavyweights went down, Alibaba (9988) and Tencent (0700) dropping 1.8 percent and 1.7 percent, respectively.
