Hong Kong stocks regained the 26,000-point mark at noon on Tuesday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index jumped by 254 points, or 1 percent, to 26,088 points at noon.
The half-day market turnover was HK$140 billion.
The Hang Seng Tech Index rose 1.3 percent to 5,180 points at noon. Alibaba (9988) surged 2.5 percent. Bright Smart Securities & Commodities (1428) soared by 66 percent as Ant Group cleared all hurdles for the acquisition.
In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index was flat at 4,083 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index went down by 0.4 percent to 14,250 points at the midday close.
