Hang Seng Index rebounds 200 points by noon on Thursday

Hong Kong stocks‘ gains narrowed by noon on Thursday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose nearly 500 points at one point in the morning trading session, before paring the rise to 212 points, or 0.8 percent, to 25,462 points at noon.

Financial shares led the gain. 

The half-day market turnover was HK$164.2 billion. 

The Hang Seng Tech Index was flat at 4,829 points at noon.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index climbed 0.8 percent to 4,116 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index went up by 1.7 percent to 14,150 points at the midday close.
