China Mobile (0941) has launched its first consumer-grade quadruped robot "Lingxi", positioning the device as an intelligent helper for family care, security and entertainment, according to mainland media reports.
The robot is designed around human-like interaction and scenario-based services, targeting use cases such as companion care for children, monitoring and assistance for elderly family members, and home safety.
Equipped with artificial intelligence large-model capabilities, Lingxi can understand natural language, learn family routines, and patrol the home when residents are away, detecting hazards such as gas leaks or intrusions and sending alerts, the reports said.
For the elderly, Lingxi can check in and respond to falls or prolonged inactivity. For children, it offers interactive storytelling, songs, and playful movements, while a mobile photographer feature can record family gatherings.
