Hong Kong stocks rebounded and closed shy of 26,000 levels on Wednesday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index closed 16 points or 0.07 percent lower at 25,935 after once plunging to a low of 25,496.
The tech gauge closed at 5,785, down 32 points or 0.6 percent.
Total market turnover for the day reached nearly HK$238.8 billion.
Technology stocks delivered mixed performance. Meituan (3690) gained 1.3 percent while Alibaba (9988) declined 0.3 percent. Tencent (0700) closed flat.
Shares of Chinese electric vehicle maker Seres Group (9927), the EV partner of technology firm Huawei, closed flat on its trading debut after once falling as much as 10 percent.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.23 percent to 3,969 points while the Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.4 percent to 13,223.
