Nissin's first-quarter profit declines 6.7pc despite increased revenue

Nissin Foods (1475) recorded a net profit of HK$110.03 million for the first quarter of 2025, down 6.7 percent year-on-year, primarily due to increasing costs of sales and distribution.

The company's gross profit rose 8.5 percent to HK$376 million, driven by increased sales volume. However, its gross profit margin declined by 0.9 percentage points to 35.1 percent, mainly attributable to the rising costs.

During this period, the company’s revenue increased 11.3 percent year-on-year to HK$1.07 billion.

Revenue from Hong Kong and other regions grew by 15.2 percent to HK$401 million, due to the steady performance of the noodles business as well as a regaining and consolidation of its non-noodles businesses.

At the same time, revenue from the mainland increased by 9.1 percent to HK$671 million, thanks to efforts to expand sales in inland areas and the continued upward momentum in the mainland.
