Television Broadcasts (0511) has appointed Kenneth Hsu Kin as a non-executive director of the board, with effect from yesterday.
According to an announcement released after the markets closed, Hsu is deemed to be holding nearly 96.8 million shares of the company held by Shaw Brothers.
This represents around 22.1 percent of the total number of ordinary shares of the company held by Hsu and non-executive director media tycoon Li Ruigang.
Both Hsu and Li are indirect shareholders in the company.
In line with other directors of the company, Hsu will be paid a director's fee of HK$260,000 per annum.
Aged 71, Hsu was formerly the vice president and managing director of the Asia Pacific operations of Johnson Controls, a publicly-listed American Irish-domiciled multinational conglomerate.
Prior to that, Hsu worked for the Government of the Republic of Singapore and is a licensed professional engineer in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and the United States.
He was also the chairman of the Engineers Registration Board, a statutory board in Hong Kong.
