Next Digital share trading halted

Trading in the shares of publisher Next Digital has been halted today.

The Security Bureau has frozen the assets of the company's controlling shareholder, Jimmy Lai Chee-ying who faces three charges. He is also serving a 14-month jail term for joining an unauthorized assembly in August 2019. He is due in court today.

Next Digital said trading in the shares was halted "pending the release of an announcement in relation to, among other matters, statement issued by the Hong Kong Security Bureau about freeze in the assets and shareholdings in the company held by the company’s controlling shareholder,  Lai Chee Ying, which is inside information for the company.''
