Gigi Lai rents out Mid-Levels luxury flat at record price, earning nearly $1m annually

Hong Kong actress-turned-businesswoman Gigi Lai, 53, has leased out her luxury apartment at Tavistock in Mid-Levels Central for HK$83,000 a month — setting a new record for similar units in the estate. The three-bedroom flat, which she purchased in 2017 for HK$44 million, including a parking space, now brings in almost HK$1 million in annual rental income.

Best known for her roles in TVB dramas War and Beauty and The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber, as well as the film series Young and Dangerous, Lai stepped away from showbiz after marrying businessman Patrick Ma Ting-kung in 2008. 

She is now chairwoman and CEO of beauty and medical group Miricor (1827), which was moved to the Main Board in 2019.

The actress, once dubbed the “Goddess of Beauty,” has successfully transformed into a corporate leader while raising her three daughters.
