Following the successful conclusion of Nicholas Tse Ting-fung’s Evolution Nic Live concert series last month, public attention has shifted to the singer-actor’s two sons with ex-wife Cecilia Cheung - Lucas and Quintus - who have recently made headlines for their academic achievements.
According to media reports, 17-year-old Lucas has been admitted to the prestigious University of Cambridge to study physics, though neither Tse nor Cheung has officially confirmed the news.
Contrary to the stereotypical image of celebrity children, Lucas and Quintus have distinguished themselves as high-achieving students. Both attend the International Christian School (ICS) in Shatin’s Shek Mun.
Reports indicate that Lucas completed a five-year curriculum in just three years at the age of 15, while his younger brother Quintus has consistently earned straight A’s.
Despite their 2011 divorce, Tse and Cheung have remained deeply involved in their sons’ upbringing and education.
In 2015, the former couple issued a joint statement refuting tabloid claims that their children had missed school interviews or faced enrollment issues. They clarified that Lucas and Quintus had long been waitlisted for ICS and were eventually admitted, which brought the family great joy.
The statement emphasized that all decisions regarding the boys’ living arrangements, education, and travel were made jointly by both parents. Cheung also expressed gratitude for Tse’s unwavering support and love for their sons, noting that their return to Hong Kong allowed them to spend more time with grandparents on both sides of the family.
