The decision, approved by the Party Central Committee and the CMC, was disclosed ahead of next week’s Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, where the expulsions are expected to be formally ratified.
Those dismissed include He Weidong, Miao Hua, He Hongjun, Wang Xiubin, Lin Xiangyang, Qin Shutong, Yuan Huazhi, Wang Houbin, and Wang Chunning. According to the Defense Ministry, investigations found that the nine had seriously violated Party discipline and committed major duty-related crimes involving large sums of money, describing the cases as “extremely serious” with a “very negative impact.”
The ministry said their cases have been transferred to military prosecutors for further legal proceedings.
In a statement, the Defense Ministry stressed that the move reflects the Party leadership’s firm determination to advance the anti-corruption campaign within the armed forces, adding that it demonstrates “there is no place for corrupt elements to hide in the military.”
