Co-organized by Vertex China and the Temasek Foundation, the competition is expected to gather innovators with near or market-ready technological solutions relevant to addressing key sustainability challenges.
Participants will compete for prizes totaling 5 million yuan to support proof-of-value pilots in China, while the challenge also serves as a launchpad that connects innovators, industry, and funders to enable the scaling of technologies.
Winners will be selected by an international judging panel comprising experts and investors, based on evaluation criteria focusing on the feasibility and desirability of the solution, as well as commercial viability.
In addition, Vertex China is a dual-currency venture capital fund specializing in early-stage investments, with a focus on innovative technology and biotech.
The philanthropic organization, Temasek Foundation, aims to strengthen social resilience, foster international exchange and regional capabilities, advance science, and protect the planet by launching various programs.
