Hong Kong cyclist Lee Sze-wing captured a bronze medal in the women's omnium event at the Hong Kong International Track Cup held last Saturday.
Following her race, Lee shared her contentment with her performance and her aspirations to enhance her results over the subsequent two days of the competition.
Competing against her idol and competitor, Yumi Kajihara of Japan, who secured the gold medal, Lee observed that her scores were closely trailing Kajihara's towards the race's conclusion.
This observation led her to adopt Kajihara’s pace, inadvertently disrupting her own rhythm. Lee recognized this as an oversight and expressed her determination to improve in the forthcoming events.
The head coach, Hervé Dagorne, expressed his hopes for the Hong Kong team to secure a gold medal in the remaining events. He stressed the importance of excelling in all facets of the competition to achieve top honors.
Dagorne also noted that the team plans to travel to Australia for a training session in preparation for the National Games scheduled for the end of the year.
On the first day of the competition the local reps won one siler and four bronze medals.
