Police arrested four individuals as British band Coldplay held its second concert at Kai Tak Sports Park on Wednesday night, with the suspects accused of ticket scalping and conspiracy to defraud.
Police said they have intercepted two men and a woman, all mainland Chinese nationals, during a patrol last night.
Initial investigations revealed that one man and one woman had purchased concert tickets online before being approached by another man who offered to escort them into the venue for HK$2,000.
Police discovered the man was carrying an expired ticket and two invalid passes unrelated to the event. The trio was arrested and detained for further investigation.
In a separate case, a local man was arrested for allegedly attempting to sell two concert tickets at more than double their original price to undercover officers.
He was charged under Hong Kong’s anti-scalping laws, and the tickets were confiscated and voided.
Ticket scalping is an offense that could attract a fine of up to HK$2,000.
