In an exclusive interview with Sing Tao Headline, the sister publication of The Standard, the founder of Best Shine Group Simon Tse Kar-ho said over a hundred individuals have inquired about ticket sales within the past two days.
Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Tse reported the incident to the police on Monday (Mar 31) to avert further victimization.
He emphasized that tickets for the three-day Jay Chou concert in Hong Kong were sold out following the additional promotion on March 27.
Tse stated that the official Facebook page of the Group will solely provide information and updates regarding concerts and other activities and will never engage in ticket sales.
He mentioned that a fake website called "Baohui Entertainment" is tricking fans into buying tickets. They are asking people to pay a fee of HK$200 for each ticket and are using a bank account that has a name similar to his company's to collect this money.
Tse has tasked the legal team to pursue action regarding the scam as well as the fraudulent account on social media impersonating the company.
Apart from the tickets for Jay Chou's concert, the fake page also claims to be selling tickets for Mayday, JJ Lin and Sammi Cheng's concerts that the company does not organize, Tse added.
He urged the public to report to the police if they provided personal information or payments to the fraudulent webpage.
