TD to roll out ZZ Series Vehicle Registration Marks starting March

The Transport Department (TD) announced on Sunday that the distribution of the Traditional Vehicle Registration Marks in the "ZZ" series will commence this month and continue through next month. 

The TD added today that once the "ZZ" series is fully allocated, the sequence will revert to the "WA" series, following a reverse alphabetical order. 

This will include redistributing returned but unassigned traditional license plate numbers, beginning with the "WA" to "WZ" series, and subsequently the "VA" to "VZ" series, then the "UA" to "UZ" series, and so on.

Currently, there are about 3 million such numbers available, which are expected to meet the demand for approximately the next 20 years.
