Mother arrested for leaving child at home alone

A mother in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of child abuse on Tuesday after she had left his son, aged around 6 years old, at home in Yuen Long.

Police said they received a report at 12.45pm today that the boy had been left unattended in his home at Ha Yau Tin Tsuen.

Police responded to the scene and arrested the boy’s mother after an investigation. She is being held for ill-treatment or neglect of her children.

The investigation is ongoing.
