The petition against Hip Hing Loong Stage Engineering Company was filed by a mainland-based firm on Friday.
Hip Hing Loong was one of three companies that faced prosecutions after a heavy giant screen hanging mid-air crashed down onto the stage during the concert at Hong Kong Coliseum, hitting two performing dancers.
In January 2024, the contractor was fined for HK$420,000 after it pleaded guilty to six counts of crimes related to work safety, including “failing to ensure the health and safety of their employees.”
