Domain 'ai.com' redirects to Deepseek official website instead of ChatGPT

Internet users have recently reported the top-level domain "ai.com" has been redirecting to the official website of Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) startup DeepSeek.

The domain is seen as a symbol of the cutting-edge AI era, which previously redirected to OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini and Elon Musk's xAI, highlighting Deepseek's rapid prominence within the AI landscape.

The ai.com domain was registered in 1993 and is valid until May 2031, with its registration based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The domain was reportedly redirecting to the official ChatGPT website since 2024, but that has recently changed.
