Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu delivered the Chinese New Year message to Hong Kong citizens on Tuesday and wished for prosperity and good fortune in the Year of the Snake.

"In Chinese culture, the snake is nimble and agile, and is a symbol of prosperity and wealth," said the city leader. "This year, Hong Kong will once again show its agility and resilience with flexible thinking to innovate, reform, and seek further development as we strive to build a bright future."
He further noted that the city is full of cheerful events, including the giant panda cubs born in Hong Kong, ready to meet the public next month.
"My wife and I wish the people of Hong Kong good health in the Year of the Snake," Lee said. "May you have joy, prosperity and good fortune in the Year of the Snake!"
