The 18-year-old, surnamed Tse, was immediately rushed to North District Hospital around midnight and was later pronounced dead.
It was believed that Tse fell from a corridor on the high floors, and no suicide note was found.
Tse lived in Cheung Lok House with his family for many years. His family said he was introverted and rarely communicated with friends or relatives. Investigation revealed that Tse had multiple gambling debts totaling around HK$200,000.
Authorities believe that financial distress from excessive gambling may have led to the tragedy. There are currently no suspicious circumstances surrounding the case.
