MOP 10,000 cash handouts for Macau residents continue

Macau residents had reason to celebrate after the SAR's chief executive, Ho Iat-seng, announced on Tuesday the amount of cash handouts to be given to local residents will remain the same next year under the Wealth Partaking Scheme - MOP 10,000 for permanent Macao residents and MOP 6,000 for temporary residents.

Addressing the Legislative Assembly of the 2025 fiscal year budget, Ho said his administration has united and led various sectors of society to thoroughly implement the important instructions of President Xi Jinping, as well as the central government’s decisions regarding the SAR.

He said the government remains steadfast in implementing the principles of "one country, two systems," "Macau people governing Macau," and a high degree of autonomy. 

The Macau leader also noted that authorities have focused on promoting diversified economic development, advancing the construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqi, continuously improving livelihoods, and achieving new accomplishments in various undertakings in the Macau SAR, always maintaining overall prosperity and stability.
