Several observation stations, including Ta Kwu Ling, Happy Valley, Wong Tai Sin, and Sham Shui Po, recorded over 30 degrees at noon.
The city will be hot during the day and foggy in the morning and at night as a southerly airstream will persist over the coastal areas of Guangdong in the next couple of days.
The weather watchdog revised the nine-day weather forecast to raise the maximum temperature tomorrow (Mar 25) from 27 degrees to 30 degrees.
However, as a weak northeast monsoon gradually affects the city in midweek, temperatures will drop slightly.
Meanwhile, there will be showers and thunderstorms over the weekend and early next week because of the upper-air disturbances.
