First phase of Wah Fu Estate redevelopment project to start in 2027 at earliest: sources

Wah On House and Wah Lok House will be demolished for the first stage of the redevelopment of Wah Fu Estate, with the target of being vacated in July 2027, according to sources.

The Housing Authority will arrange rehousing for the 895 affected households in the public housing project on Wah King Street. 

The Domestic Removal Allowance - offered to the households affected by estate clearance – is around HK$10,000 for the one-person household and about HK$17,000 for the three-person families.

The eligible commercial tenants under fixed-term tenancies paying market rent will be offered an allowance equivalent to 15 times of the monthly exclusive rent as specified in the tenancy agreement. 

The sources added that the authority will announce details for the first phase of clearance arrangements within this month.
