Leung said the trip was "inspiring and fruitful" and has helped the LegCo Members to understand the latest development of the industries in Fujian.
"Members also had the opportunity to meet with various provincial and cities leaders to exchange views on strengthening the collaboration between Hong Kong and Fujian in various areas," he added.
Leung stated that the lawmakers learned more about the development potential of mainland cities following visits to various enterprises and facilities relating to the digital economy, finance, logistics, cultural development, conservation, and tourism industries, etc.
The report to submit to the government will focus on how Hong Kong can learn from Fujian, Leung said.
He also expressed his gratitude to the arrangements made by the Fujian government and various departments in Fuzhou and Xiamen.
During the last-day trip, the delegation visited the Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Xiamen to understand how it could facilitate cross-strait economic and trade cooperation. The FTZ focused on developing industries such as shipping and logistics, high-tech research and development, and international trade-related services.
They also met with Cui Yonghui, the standing committee member of the Fujian provincial committee and secretary of the Xiamen municipal committee. They exchanged views on expanding and deepening the connection and cooperation between Xiamen and Hong Kong in various areas.
The delegation later visited Xiamen Planning Exhibition Hall and the Tan Kah Kee Memorial Museum to understand the history and changes of Xiamen.
Before returning to Hong Kong, the delegation had a work meeting with the United Front Work Department of the Xiamen Municipal Committee.
