Man wielding knife in Yau Tong mall remanded in Siu Lam Psychiatric Center

A 27-year-old man was remanded at Siu Lam Psychiatric Center after being arrested last Saturday night for wandering in Domain Mall in Yau Tong while wielding a knife. 

The defendant Cheng Kam-shing, reportedly a janitor, appeared in Kwun Tong Court today (Fri) as the case was mentioned for the first time. He faces a count of possessing an offensive weapon. 

Cheng needed not to enter a plea, and Acting Principal Magistrate Cheang Kei-hong adjourned the hearing the June 27. 

Cheng also saw his bail application rejected by Magistrate Cheang. Cheng was instead remanded in custody at the Siu Lam Psychiatric Center, pending two psychiatrists’ reports. 

Cheng allegedly kept a fruit knife for illegal purposes in Domain Mall on Ko Chiu Road on June 10, 2023.
