At least eight injured as elevation platform collapses on movie set in Kowloon City

At least eight people were injured and rushed to hospital as an elevation platform collapsed on a film set outside Regal Oriental Hotel in Kowloon City on Saturday afternoon. 

The incident occurred at around 4.30 pm today. It was understood that a crew were shooting a movie there at the time when the elevation platform on top of a work vehicle collapsed and fell, suspectedly because of being overweight. 

Five people fell from the platform as it tipped backward. A man sustained injuries to his hands and fell unconscious and another person sustained fractures to the legs. 

They were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Kwong Wah Hospital.
