Five hotels will join the quarantine hotel scheme, providing 1,500 more quarantine rooms starting December.

Two of the new hotels have priced their smallest rooms to as low as HK$500 per night.

The government announced on Tuesday that a total of 11,500 quarantine hotel rooms will be available in Hong Kong from December 1 to February 28, which covers the Christmas and New Year holidays.

It will be an increase of 1,500 rooms, as compared to the existing number of 10,000.

The five new hotels joining the scheme are:

- iclub Fortress Hill Hotel on Merlin Street in North Point;

- O' Hotel on Kowloon City Road in To Kwa Wan;

- Tower 1 of Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West on Yeung Uk Road;

-  Lanson Place Causeway Bay, Hong Kong on Leighton Road;

-  Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hong Kong on Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui.

A 10-square-meter single room is priced at HK$500 at iclub Fortress Hill Hotel and O' Hotel.

A 100-square-feet single room costs HK$490 at branches of Bridal Tea House Hotels in Hung Hom and Yau Ma Tei.

Those who want a more luxurious stay can consider booking a 166-square-meter entertainment suite for HK$58,300 at The Landmark on Queen's Road in Central.

Another choice would be the 360-square-meter presidential suite that comes with three bedrooms and kitchenette at Regal Airport Hotel in Chek Lap Kok, available for HK$28,800.
