Climate financing faces challenges from geopolitical tensions in Europe and the Middle East, as well as a slowdown in global economic growth, said China's special envoy for climate change Liu Zhenmin at the Asian Financial Forum.

Liu also expressed concerns about future uncertainties, particularly regarding the upcoming Trump administration's policies, including the possibly of US withdrawing from the Paris Agreement.

A lack of leadership from major powers could hinder the achievement of climate financing goals, Liu added.
