Korean restaurant Samsic has opened its first branch in Central, with plans to establish over ten additional locations in popular areas such as Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai, aiming to bring authentic Korean flavors to the city, according to Invest Hong Kong.
Nestled on Shelly Street, food enthusiasts can find an array of Korean dishes at the restaurant, including pork bone soup, blood sausage soup rice, stone pot rice, braised pork bones and hangover soup.
Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Arnold Lau Chi-yuen expressed enthusiasm about the brand’s arrival, noting that Korean food and pop culture are immensely popular in Hong Kong.
Renowned as Asia’s culinary capital, Lau also wished for the restaurant's success and its growth in the city.
This opening followed a visit to Seoul by Invest Hong Kong of Alpha Lau Hai-suen in February to explore business opportunities. The department is pleased to see the positive feedback from the investment promotion efforts.
Chan Hyung Hwang, the Executive Director of BMJ Samsic HK Limited, highlighted the city's advantages as a global trade hub with a friendly business environment, making it an ideal platform for promoting traditional Korean cuisine on a global scale.
Samsic’s menu is inspired by culinary delights from Byeongcheon-myeon, a region in Korea famous for the traditional Korean black pudding soup, which is highly favored by many Koreans.
