Second patient admitted to Hong Kong hospital via cross-border ambulance

The Hospital Authority announced on Monday that they had arranged the admission of a patient to Tuen Mun Hospital using the cross-border ambulance service. The second such admission since the commencement of a pilot program for direct cross-boundary ambulance transfers between Guangdong Province and Hong Kong.

The HA announced yesterday (Jan 27) that the patient had previously been admitted to The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital for treatment and after assessing the patient’s clinical condition and discussing with the patient and his family, the medical team decided to transfer the patient to Hong Kong for further treatment.

It was understood that the patient departed the Shenzhen hospital at 2 pm Sunday (Jan 26) and arrived in the city at 3 pm. He was admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital and is currently in a stable condition.
