Former lawmaker Leung Kwok-hung, also known as "Long Hair," has filed an appeal against both his conviction and the prison sentence in the 35+ subversion case. This brings the total number of defendants appealing the court decisions to 13.
Leung was sentenced to six years and nine months in jail last month after pleading not guilty to conspiracy to commit subversion.
Activist "Fast Beat" Tam Tak-chi, who pleaded guilty and received a four-year and five-month jail term, has also sought a review of his sentences earlier following appeals from former lawmaker Lam Cheuk-ting and ten others in the case.
No hearings have been scheduled for Leung and Tam's appeals so far.
The other 10 appealing their sentences are Owen Chow Ka-shing, Gordon Ng Ching-hang, Gwyneth Ho Kwai-lam, Winnie Yu Wai-ming, Kalvin Ho Kai-ming, Raymond Chan Chi-chuen, Helena Wong Pik-wan, Tat Cheng Tat-hung, Clarisse Yeung Suet-ying and Michael Pang Cheuk-kei.
