Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said he has updated Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, the top official in charge of Hong Kong and Macau affairs, on Hong Kong during the Belt and Road Forum.
When asked if he met any central government officials during the Forum or briefed them about the upcoming Policy Address, Lee simply replied he had spoken to Ding on Hong Kong's recent situation.
The city leader said Thursday that Ding had delivered keynote remarks at one of the high-level conferences, which he also attended and introduced Hong Kong's strength in connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative.
"During the forum, I have communicated with Vice Premier Ding and updated him on Hong Kong," Lee said.
