Global Sources Fall 2021 Show Series at AsiaWorld-Expo showcases a variety of exciting technology and products.

Since its announcement, the much-anticipated Global Sources’ live B2B sourcing show Fall 2021 Show Series has received overwhelming support from buyers and suppliers. The trade show this year comprises eight categories: Consumer Electronics, Electronic Components, Mobile Electronics, Smart Home & Appliances, Home & Kitchen, Tech Gifts, Lifestyle, and Fashion, offering a diversified array of products to buyers worldwide. With the support of a comprehensive platform, Global Sources collects accurate market intelligence to interpret the market outlook, identifying what is in demand and what is going to phase out. Drawing experiences from the sourcing activities amid the pandemic, Carol Lau, Senior Vice President, Client Service, Sales Support and Analytics, said “In addition to personal protection equipment and healthcare items, home appliances and entertainment products such as electronic gadgets, fitness equipment, kitchenware, etc. are shaping the recent consumer trend.”

Gaming at a higher level

Consumer Electronics is the major category in the trade show this year. As the pandemic has prompted changes to the workplace with more and more people working remotely instead of going back to office, the market sees a surge in demand for computer peripherals such as headsets, mice, keyboards, microphones, etc. 

One of the category’s exhibitors, Maxter Electronics Technology (Dongguan) Co., Ltd., had a range of gaming-related computer peripherals on display, including external audio systems, RGB mice, keyboards, headsets and microphones for live-streaming. The Dongguan-based manufacturer is capable of developing five new products every month, while the product development cycle takes 15 days.

“We focus on expanding markets in Europe and North America,” the company representative, Summer Hsia said. Their trade staff is fluent in English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, and Korean.

Despite the resources and manpower being limited for booth operation, Hsia still saw the favorable position of Hong Kong in reaching out to overseas buyers as compared to trade fairs oriented to the domestic market in Mainland China.

Reliable telecommunications solutions for enterprises and households

As for Mobile Electronics, Gainwise Technology Co. Ltd. from Taiwan is a wireless local loop and fixed wireless terminal manufacturer, providing solutions for telecommunication enterprises. Their product portfolio ranges from home appliances and property security systems, to vehicle security systems, chargers and other consumer electronics products.

For instance, their door intercom systems have a SIM card-based telephony system, so that you can answer the call from anytime anywhere. Extension to more householders with slave panels is also available. To ensure the quality of products is consistent, a set of strict quality control measures is in place.

Although the staff from the Taiwanese exhibitor could not be present physically, they have a Show Ambassador stationed at the booth ready to answer buyers’ queries, while the representatives of the company are all set to connect with interested buyers for a real-time conversation through teleconferencing solutions.

Solid recognition to Hong Kong’s aspiring fashion designers 

Global Sources has always spared no effort to promote original local designs of Hong Kong. Frequent collaborations are maintained with fashion design institutes in the territory in a number of exhibitions, and this year is no exception.

In the aim of increasing the international profile of locally trained fashion designers, 14 award-winning outfits on the catwalk of PolyU Fashion Show 2021 designed by nine students from the Institute of Textile and Clothing of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) were selected for showcase at the Fashion Spotlight section, to display their creativity in their avant-garde designs of apparel, bags and accessories.
