“Her Infinite Roads” - an initiative by Inspiring Girls Hong Kong on International Women’s Day turns an everyday symbol of direction into a tribute to the limitless paths women can take.
An ordinary road sign on Queen’s Road Central briefly became a glowing tribute to women’s journeys on Sunday night, as Inspiring Girls Hong Kong transformed the familiar street marker into a canvas for storytelling in celebration of International Women’s Day.

The activation, titled “Her Infinite Roads,” projected images onto a road sign along the busy Central thoroughfare, turning the everyday symbol of direction into a tribute to three remarkable women — a film director, an entrepreneur and a lawyer — whose life paths demonstrate that a person’s starting point does not define their destination.
Organized by Inspiring Girls Hong Kong in partnership with Publicis Groupe Hong Kong, the event drew students, young girls, school groups and supporters to 181 Queen’s Road Central, where they watched the illuminated projections appear on the sign as night fell.
The installation is part of “Be the Invisible Tie,” a campaign platform launched in November 2025 that uses the humble hair tie as a symbol of women supporting and uplifting one another.
This latest initiative builds on that idea by turning a road sign — a universal symbol of guidance and direction — into a reminder that women’s journeys can take many paths.
In Hong Kong, more than 330 streets are named after individuals, yet only 27 — less than eight percent — are named after women.
Against this backdrop, the campaign sought to symbolically place women’s stories directly onto the city’s streets.

Carmen Chiu, Board Co-Chair of Inspiring Girls Hong Kong, said the initiative was designed to help young girls see their own possibilities reflected in the world around them.
“Every girl deserves to see her potential reflected in the world around her,” she said. “Her Infinite Roads illuminates the powerful stories of women who forged their own paths, inspiring our future leaders to dream beyond boundaries.”
“By shining a spotlight on these extraordinary journeys right in the heart of our city, we empower the next generation to believe that their roads are truly infinite. Together, we can transform aspirations into reality.”
Visitors at the event were also invited to scan QR codes linked to a Spotify podcast, where each of the featured women shared her personal story.
Inspiring Girls Hong Kong said the digital extension allows the stories to reach audiences beyond the event itself, encouraging more young women to imagine their own future paths.
“In a city where so few landmarks honor women, we chose to turn the streets themselves into a canvas of possibility,” said Ines Gafsi, Chapter Chair and CEO of Inspiring Girls Hong Kong.
“These aren't just stories; they are blueprints for the next generation. Our message is simple: the road ahead of you isn't pre-defined—it is yours to build, to dream, and to own.”
For the creative team behind the project, the choice of a road sign was intentional.
“A road sign tells you where to go,” said Soenar Santoso, Creative Director at Publicis Groupe Hong Kong. “We turned it into a reminder of where you could go.”
“Supporting Inspiring Girls Hong Kong is more than a creative project; it’s a commitment to inspire the next generation. Together, we illuminate paths for young girls, empowering them to envision futures beyond expectations.”
As the road sign glowed along one of the city’s busiest streets, the installation offered a simple but powerful message: every journey begins somewhere, but the road ahead remains open.
