Three people were injured in a knife attack on a train bound for the Kansai International Airport in Osaka. Police say none of the injuries are life-threatening.
A railway worker at Rinku-town Station in Izumisano City made an emergency call around 10.30 am on Sunday, saying a person had been stabbed in the face.
Police say a conductor and two passengers were stabbed and injured in the face, wrists and other areas and were taken to hospital.
A 37-year-old knife-wielding man was arrested on the platform of the station on suspicion of attempted homicide.
Train service between Hineno and Kansai-airport stations on its Kansai-airport Line was temporarily suspended due to the incident.
