As Hong Kong moves into a season shaped by reunion and quiet celebration, the Hong Kong Observation Wheel is offering visitors a simple invitation: to pause, look outward across Victoria Harbour, and share a moment with someone close.
From February 9 to March 8, the Wheel is running its seasonal “Frame Your Moment” campaign, marking Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year with floral-themed gondolas, gentle decorative touches, and a small program of festive performances.
Set against the familiar skyline, the campaign places the focus on experience rather than spectacle — on slowing down, observing, and being present.
For couples visiting around Valentine’s Day, the Wheel’s gondolas have been decorated with blooms symbolizing love and blessing. Before boarding, visitors can take photographs at floral installations beneath the structure, then step into a gondola for a ride that lasts around 15 to 20 minutes, offering sweeping views of the harbour and the city beyond.
Those seeking a more private setting may reserve an entire gondola, while limited professional photography services are available both inside selected cabins and along the waterfront. On the evening of February 14, from 6pm to 8pm, local bands will perform love-themed songs near the Wheel, adding a soft musical layer to the harbourfront atmosphere.
The seasonal decorations also extend to the Lunar New Year. Gondolas are adorned with festive floral motifs associated with prosperity and good fortune, while photo zones around the site feature peach blossoms, orchids, and peonies — symbols traditionally linked with romance, elegance, career growth, and wealth.
A traditional lion dance performance will take place on February 18, the second day of Lunar New Year, bringing drumbeats and movement to the harbourfront in a customary expression of blessing for the year ahead. Nearby, the annual AIA Carnival will continue its run with themed installations, rides, and games, creating a broader festive setting around the Central Harbourfront.
Food offerings at the Wheel during February include seasonal desserts from selected outlets, such as red velvet cake and limited-edition ice cream flavors, adding a modest sweet note to the visit. Combination ticket options pairing rides with snack sets are also available.
Throughout the festive period, standard adult tickets are priced at HK$20, with concession tickets at HK$10 and free entry for children under three. Fast-pass tickets and private gondola options provide additional flexibility for those wishing to avoid queues or share the space with a small group.
