Hong Kong’s winter waterfront will once again light up with color, music, and carnival magic as the AIA Carnival returns to the Central Harbourfront this year, transforming the city’s skyline into a festive playground from December 22, 2025 to March 1, 2026.
Now in its 11th edition, the beloved event continues to grow from a seasonal attraction into a cultural ritual — one that many Hongkongers mark on their calendars as eagerly as the holidays themselves.
This year’s theme, “Hong Kong Tradition,” pays tribute to both the city’s heritage and the Carnival’s own place in local memory.
Over the past decade, the event has become a winter staple: a place where families take annual photos, where children return for their first thrill rides of the year, and where visitors get to experience Hong Kong’s festive energy up close.
The 2025–26 Carnival carries on that legacy with more than 30 rides and attractions, a full lineup of live shows, and food stalls serving everything from nostalgic street snacks to international comfort food.
Along the walkways and open spaces, new and returning photo installations — inspired by iconic Hong Kong neighborhoods, classic signage, and cultural motifs — invite visitors to step into scenes that feel both familiar and celebratory.
Among the event’s highlights is the return of Gandeys Circus, presenting a brand-new winter-themed production titled The Winter World Circus. Blending acrobatics, music, and seasonal storytelling, the show aims to enchant audiences of all ages, adding a touch of theatrical sparkle to the harborfront atmosphere.
Festivalgoers can also expect lively evenings at the Blue Girl Dai Pai Dong, a collaboration supported by long-term Carnival partner Jebsen Group. With draught beer, dai pai dong–style dishes, and live sets from homegrown musicians, the open-air space channels the spirit of Hong Kong’s classic night stalls while offering a modern stage for local talent.
In the weeks leading up to opening day, Carnival performers will make appearances across the city to drum up excitement with spontaneous giveaways of tickets and tokens. The opening ceremony on December 22 will feature a mini concert by popular local busking band The Flame, setting the tone for a season of lights, music, and waterfront festivities.
Tickets for this year’s Carnival remain unchanged from last year’s pricing - regular admission starting at HK$140, with early bird discounts available for the first 5,000 admissions. A digital token system will also be introduced to streamline purchases. Flexible ride pricing on selected off-peak days aims to make the experience more accessible for families and groups.
