The final countdown is under way for the Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show 2026, which will take place from January 30 to February 1 at AsiaWorld-Expo, bringing three days of world-class equestrian sport, arena entertainment, and lifestyle experiences to the city.
The world’s elite horses have already arrived in Hong Kong on a special Cathay Cargo flight and have been transferred to stabling facilities at AsiaWorld-Expo to rest and acclimatize ahead of competition.
The show will feature top international and local horse-and-rider combinations, alongside a special live performance by pop singer Ian Chan of MIRROR on the final day.
Elite showjumping and youth challenge
Five five-star showjumping classes will headline the program, with riders from 11 regions competing over three days. Denmark’s Zascha Nygaard, the reigning 2025 Longines Grand Prix champion, will return to defend her title.
She will be joined by leading riders including Simon Delestre, Roger Yves Bost, Kevin Staut, Yuri Mansur, John Whitaker, Richard Vogel, and Barbara Schnieper. Hong Kong, China will be represented by Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian team members Jacqueline Lai and Clarissa Lyra.
The show will also debut The Hong Kong Jockey Club Asian Youth Challenge, featuring young riders from Cambodia, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, giving emerging talent a chance to compete on an international stage.
Arena entertainment and live music
New to the show this year is Hong Kong Dog Agility, presented by Airport Authority Hong Kong, with canine athletes and handlers tackling obstacle courses during each performance.
The popular Shetland Pony Grand National will return, with young jockeys aged eight to 14 racing ponies around a purpose-built track. Selected jockeys will be mentored by Hong Kong Jockey Club riders including Zac Purton, Luke Ferraris, Vincent Ho, and Ellis Wong.
On Sunday, February 1, Ian Chan will perform live in the main arena ahead of the Longines Grand Prix, in a show open to arena ticket holders.

Beyond the arena
Visitors can also explore the Lifestyle Shopping Village, featuring shopping, food, and family activities. Highlights include an interactive digital installation themed around the Year of the Horse, a food zone with dishes from six Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Hong Kong, a Kids Zone with activities including Hong Kong’s first LeMieux Hobby Horse Competition, and the Champagne Taittinger Bar presented by Cathay Cargo overlooking the warm-up ring.
