This year’s squad, comprising 16 horse-and-rider combinations, competed across dressage, jumping, eventing and para dressage in both team and individual events from November 24 to December 7.
The contingent was more than double the size of the previous Asian Championships team and participated in twice as many events—reflecting Hong Kong’s rising depth and capability in the sport.
All riders and para riders train under the Hong Kong Equestrian Performance Plan (HKEPP), supported by the Hong Kong Jockey Club in partnership with the Equestrian Federation of Hong Kong, China.
Patrick Lam delivered one of the standout performances of the championships. Riding Jockey Club Highdown March, he completed both the cross-country and show jumping phases of the eventing competition with zero penalties, earning an individual silver medal for Hong Kong, China.
Lam also joined Annie Ho, Nicole Fardel-Pearson and Owen Wong to secure a bronze in team eventing.
In team jumping, Lam again contributed to the podium, partnering Jacqueline Lai, Clarissa Lyra and Sheikara Whyte to win another bronze.
In dressage, Jacqueline Siu, Annie Ho and Samantha Chan added to the medal tally with a bronze in the team dressage event.
This year also marked the debut of para dressage at the FEI Asian Championships, where Hong Kong, China captured three medals.
The team earned silver in the Para Dressage Team Competition, while rider Fleur Schrader, partnering Jockey Club Todays Special, made history by becoming the first athlete from Hong Kong, China to win an individual para dressage medal at an FEI Championship. She took bronze in both the Para Dressage Individual Competition and the Para Dressage Freestyle Individual Competition.

First held in 2019, the FEI Asian Championships is considered the region’s second-largest equestrian event after the Asian Games. The Pattaya 2025 edition featured more than 80 riders from 13 countries and regions competing across five disciplines.
“Thailand has been an amazing championship for Team Hong Kong China. Whilst it's always exciting to win medals, what we have seen here is great performances from a number of new combinations and young athletes. This is very exciting for the future,” said Amanda Bond, Head of Equestrian Affairs of the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
The Hong Kong, China team was led by Chef d’Equipe Corinne Bracken, who also serves as the Club’s HKEPP Performance Manager. The squad received comprehensive support from a multidisciplinary team of coaches, grooms, veterinarians, farriers and physiotherapists provided by the Jockey Club.
