The 18-year-old Chinese talented diver Quan Hongchan and her partner Wang Weiying finished first in the Women's synchronized 10-meter platform event at the 15th National Games, leading the Guangdong team to snatch the gold in the women's team event.
This marks a remarkable debut for the duo, who teamed up for the first time.
Representing Guangdong, Quan and Wang led the pack after their initial two dives, establishing a narrow margin over their closest rivals.
Despite fierce competition from Shanghai, which pushed hard for the lead, the Guangdong pair ultimately secured the gold by a slim 0.9-point margin, thanks to their strong start.
Along with Wang's first-place finish in the individual 10-meter platform event, and Chen Yiwen triumphed in both the individual and synchronized 3-meter springboard events -- partnering with Lin Shan -- Guangdong swept all four diving events, capturing the coveted women's team diving gold medal.
Sichuan and Shaanxi rounded out the podium, taking home the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
