Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice in a deal worth more than 100 million (HK$994 million), British media reported.
The 24-year-old England star had received permission to undergo a medical this week ahead of his move across London, the Guardian newspaper said. The report added that West Ham had accepted an offer worth 100 million plus 5 million in add-ons.
West Ham chairman David Sullivan said last month that a gentleman's agreement meant Rice can leave despite a year remaining on his contract.
Rice joined West Ham's academy from Chelsea as a teenager and has been a mainstay since his breakthrough campaign in 2017-18. He has played over 200 games for the club and helped them win the Europa Conference League last month.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have signed midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea on a five-year contract with an option for a further 12 months, the Premier League side announced yesterday.
The 24-year-old, who came through Chelsea's academy and had a year left on his deal, has been signed for 55 million plus 5 million in add-ons, according to reports in British media.
Mount said farewell to Chelsea fans in a video.
"Given the speculation over the last six months, this may not come as a surprise to you but it doesn't make it any easier to tell you that I've made the decision to leave Chelsea," he said. " I know some of you won't be happy with my decision, but it's what is right for me at this moment in my career."
