Growing green tech

Hang Seng Bank, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and Wofoo Social Enterprises have launched the Future Ecopreneur Programme, aiming to support several hundred green tech startups in coming years.

Participants will engage in various activities, such as overseas and Greater Bay Area ecotours, sustainability courses, entrepreneurship bootcamps and community-based sustainability projects over 2.5 years.

Some 25 startups comprised of university students and recent alumni have taken part, with the opportunity to be directly admitted to the HKSTP Ideation Programme with a seed fund of up to HK$100,000.

They will also interact directly with industry leaders from Hang Seng and the extensive network of Greentech companies from HKSTP, gaining practical insights into the latest sustainable technologies and practices.

The program will inject a new wave of youth innovation to further enhance its growing ecosystem of sustainability initiatives and bolster the city's standing as an international greentech hub.
