Apple supplier Foxconn is considering introducing a rotating chief executive system, which would be a major overhaul of its management structure designed to nurture future talent.

For companies worldwide, a rotating chief executive structure is uncommon. But analysts say it can promote teamwork, prevent leadership from becoming entrenched and develop the next generation of talent.

The plan is a response to repeated calls by investors to boost corporate governance by separating the roles of chief executive and chairperson. Young Liu has held both roles since 2019 in the 50-year-old Taiwanese company, the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer and major iPhone assembler.

In other news, Wuhan University has started a new course named after alumnus Lei Jun, the founder and chief executive of Chinese smart consumer electronics maker Xiaomi. The course will adopt a more flexible customized cultivation mode, with a planned enrollment of 30 students.
