Hong Kong home sales value drops 44.6pc month-on-month in July

Hong Kong’s home sales value declined 9.6 percent year-on-year to HK$41.9 billion in July, representing a 44.6 percent drop compared to last month, according to data released by the Land Registry on Tuesday.

A total of 4,462 residential property sale and purchase agreements were registered last month, marking a 41.7 percent drop from June and a 22.6 percent decline compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, total registration volume for all building units in July dropped 6.9 percent year-on-year to 6,715 units, down 28.8 percent month-on-month.

The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements of building units reached HK$51.7 billion in July, down 5.3 percent from a year earlier and 37.5 percent lower compared to the previous month.
